Private Tuition, Mentoring & Consultation
I am offering my experience and advice to help you develop your visual arts practice and grow your creative career through one-to-one mentoring sessions on subjects, chosen by you, to suit your personal and professional needs.
I have had over 25 years of experience working in the creative industries in a variety of roles: as Head of BA(Hons) Fine Art, Director of Big Skies ( regional arts development company), the founder of Hatch (arts business incubation programme), as a specialist arts material adviser and retailer (with L. Cornelissen & Son and Daler Rowney), plus alongside all this, as a multi-disciplinary fine art practitioner.
Through many previous consultations, I have found that an initial 2 hour session focused on your artwork or arts career is the ideal amount of time to get to know your practice and establish some ways forward, giving you both practical feedback and enough food for your developmental thought without drowning in information!
All my consultations are entirely confidential and can take place with you either face to face or online, depending on where you live and work. You may want more than one session to explore a range of subjects and paths and we can negotiate this with your aspirations and requirements in mind. I keep the sessions and modes of delivery flexible and reactive to assist you in the most effective way possible.
Options for consultation include:

Understanding of a practical or theoretical concept e.g. colour theory or arts media usage

Starting up as a creative practitioner

Vision and values as an artist

Mid-career stock-take and forward planning

Your choice! If there is a specific area you would like to explore, then please ask and if I have good experience in it then I will be happy to help.
In preparation for the session, I would need an email from you containing the following :

At least 5 images of current work

A statement about your practice

A CV – if applicable

A paragraph about what you would like to focus upon and gain from the consultation
Costs:
The cost for a 2-hour session is £100.00 (online or local to Bridlington). I am also very happy to travel to your studio and would ask for expenses on top of this rate, but due to the Covid 19 situation, I am not currently offering this option. Keep an eye out for updates on this.
